Discover my work with Wings and Seeds – The Zaagkii Project
At Middle Ear Media, I had the pleasure of working on Wings and Seeds – The Zaagkii Project, a collaborative effort for native plant and pollinator protection sponsored by the nonprofit Cedar Tree Institute, Keweenaw Bay Indian Community (KBIC), and the United States Forest Service.
Identity and Logo Design
I was responsible for creating the visual identity for Wings and Seeds – The Zaagkii Project. This included designing a logo that represents the initiative’s focus on native plant and pollinator protection. The logo uses imagery of a butterfly, symbolizing the connection between pollination and ecological survival.
Web Design and Front-end Development
In addition to the logo design, I also designed and developed a responsive website that showcases the project’s mission, goals, and achievements. The website includes a gallery of photos, videos, and resources, as well as a blog and a section for upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. The website was designed with a focus on user experience, incorporating features such as swappable default header images, custom header images for each page or post, and multiple widgetized areas in the sidebar and footer. I also made use of custom styles for certain categories and a customizable drop down navigation menu.
SEO and CMS
I implemented SEO strategies to help the website rank well in search engines and increase its visibility. The site uses a Content Management System, allowing for easy updates and maintenance.
Maintenance
I also provided ongoing maintenance, updates, and support to ensure the website is always up to date.
Web Hosting
I provided web hosting services for Wings and Seeds – The Zaagkii Project, ensuring that it is always accessible to customers. The hosting service ensures that the website is up, with fast load times and minimal downtime.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with Wings and Seeds – The Zaagkii Project, and help them create a website that serves as a powerful tool in terms of educating people about the importance of native plants and pollinators and encouraging them to get involved in the project’s efforts.
