Ojibwe Originals is a Native American retail apparel company committed to promoting and preserving Ojibwe culture through its unique and culturally significant apparel designs.
Their products, which include t-shirts, hoodies, and hats, reflect a family-oriented, positive vibe that is upbeat, wholesome, natural, and healthy. Ojibwe Originals’ designs are inspired by Ojibwe storytelling, traditions, and beliefs, and their aim is to share this cultural richness with the world through their clothing.
Identity and Branding
The creation of a strong identity and branding strategy for Ojibwe Originals was a crucial part of our collaboration. I worked closely with the company to develop a brand that resonated with their cultural values and vision. The brand reflects the Ojibwe values of family, positivity, and a deep connection with nature. Our goal was to create a brand that would not only stand out but also represent the heart and soul of Ojibwe culture.
Logo Design
To anchor this brand, I designed a logo that features an otter. The otter is not just a charming and visually appealing element; it carries cultural significance within Ojibwe tradition. The logo was meticulously crafted to work seamlessly when printed on shirts, hoodies, and hats. Its design captures the essence of Ojibwe storytelling and the connection between the Ojibwe people and their natural surroundings.
Ideation
My collaboration with Ojibwe Originals began with the creation of the company’s name. It was my pleasure to aid in the process of naming the company, a task that we approached with great care and respect for Ojibwe culture and values. The chosen name embodies the essence of the brand and serves as a strong foundation for their identity.
With these elements—identity, branding, and logo design—I aimed to provide Ojibwe Originals with a strong and recognizable presence in the retail apparel market. This work was not only about creating an appealing brand but also about sharing the cultural richness and significance of Ojibwe traditions with the world.
